Robert Logan (1939­) is a University of Toronto physics professor 
and communications theorist. A friend and colleague of Marshall 
McLuhan, Logan studied with McLuhan and together they co-authored 
several papers and books in the late 1970s. Logan is the author of 
The Alphabet Effect  , and The Fifth Language .
